Description

Women Reshaping Lives, LLC, counseling practice of Susan Levine, is dedicated
to helping women through major life transitions related to career, retirement,
aging, bereavement, separation, divorce and recovery issues. Susan’s own life
experience navigating the challenges of change, as well as her counseling
training is at the heart of her passion for helping others.

Susan has been a Connecticut Licensed Professional Counselor for more than
18 years. She began her counseling career with Bethany Counseling Services.
Before that she was a musician, professional singer, music teacher and cantor.
Susan was the Cantor of the Farmington Valley Jewish Congregation - Emek
Shalom for 32 years. It was her pastoral care work at the congregation that
prompted her to pursue counseling training at the University of St. Joseph.
She has also facilitated support groups at Jewish Family Services of Greater
Hartford for those dealing with the challenges of addiction recovery. For the past
three years, Susan has facilitated job transition emotional support groups for the
JETS program at Jewish Family Services. Upon her retirement from clergy work,
she sought to reshape her own life with the opening of Women Reshaping Lives
in 2012.

Susan offers one-on-one counseling sessions that can be scheduled weekly or
bi-weekly, depending on individual needs. Her philosophy of the counseling
process is that it is a journey of self-discovery, healing and growth. Mindfulness,
meditation, cognitive behavioral therapy and mind, body, spirit connections are
some of the modalities she uses. All of our experiences and who we are provide
us with the foundation and clues to where we want to go. Clients come to
discover their strengths and coping skills that are the tools to dealing with
adversity and reshaping their lives.

In addition to individual counseling sessions, Susan is available to speak to
groups about the process of change and transition. In October, she will be
presenting “Passages and Pathways”, an interactive workshop exploring adult
development, emotions and finances, and the benefits of life transitions for
Tunxis Community College, Bend in the River program.

Susan is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Connecticut
Counseling Association. She devotes volunteer time as a member and board
member of Soroptimist International of Farmington Valley, a group dedicated to
raising funds and taking part in projects to benefit the lives of girls and women,
locally, nationally and internationally. Susan has been a proud member of the
Simsbury Chamber of Commerce since she opened her practice. She is looking
forward to discussing transition in our business and personal lives at the
September 9th After Hours Chamber gathering.
